Literature Text

By Tom O'Daniel.

Before,
Hazel trees whistle in the howling wind,
The branches bend in perfect unison,
To its natural scattered path,
The wind is flashing sheer cold,
It feels so nice,
When nature unfolds.

The tangled brush,
Hums to the beat,
Of every step I take,
Twigs snap,
And pinecones fall,
Under my feet,
And the trees so tall.

So much is going on,
Outside of my echoing head,
But so little going on within,
Hazel trees whistling,
And the wind flashing cold,
A walk in the woods,
Is nature's story told.

Now,
Hazel trees are gone,
There's little air to breathe,
A walk in the woods,
Once great and fair,
Is no longer here to see,
It's just thin air,
An ashy grave Staring back at me,
A forest's unwilling despair.
My first published poem. BWT! ALL OF THEM ARE PUBLISHED NOW SO I CAN SEW YOU! XD
